Hi all,
A while ago, I was on the j f w lite list, but unsubscribed, because when I upgraded from jaws 3.31 to jaws 5, I was trying to create a default taskbar frame that I could use a keystroke with, and it would tell me how many programs or windows were still open. I had always used insert` to read the open programs automatically from anywhere, and with jaws 5, I couldn't do it anymore, except as an application frame that would only work in the taskbar. The list moderator treated me like I didn't know anything, and was telling me how to read help topics, like I don't know what help topics are, and I said looking up help topics is the first thing I do. I only ask people when I can't find answers in help, and don't know what else to do. I called freedom scientific, and the one I talked to, although very nice, didn't know, and he asked someone, and it was then I found out you can't create default frames anymore. I wrote and told the list about it, and unsubscribed, then she wrote me the next day with one of those now I understand things, but the solution involved editing a jcf file, which I wasn't comfortable doing. Anyway, I tried resubscribing a couple of weeks ago, because I wanted some help with microsoft reader, but I got a response from yahoo groups, saying I had been banned, and the moderator had a right to ban for any reason. There was an attachment, but I'm leery about opening attachments unless I'm expecting it. Ok, if I'm banned from an email list, I guess the moderator has the right not to have anyone on their list they don't want, but if I'm banned, I like to know the reason. How can you be banned from a listyou are not even on in the first place? Does anyone have an idea as to what's going on with that? Thanks,
wonderwoman

firstly how can i help you? i use reader a lot and know a lot of the shortcuts. secondly i know yahoo are strict. i'm a member of an pop list by yahoo (ivor cutler) so i wouldn't be suprised if the moderator just went in to your acount and banned you. even if you are unsubscribed yahoo can do what ever they like with your information.

can i have the website for the jaws list?

Hi stargate,
the subscription for the jaws lite list is,
jfwlite-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
As for microsoft reader, There was no speech with it, except for jaws, and jaws just reads a bunch of unlabeled graphics, which I can't label, because there's nothing there that tells you what the graphic does. I know it's just suppose to come up with speech, but it doesn't, and I installed it, and the text to speech package, but it didn't work. I wrote microsoft support, which turned out to be an exercise in uselessness. I uninstalled and reinstalled both microsoft reader and reinstalled them, no luck. I even went in to msconfig like the woman told me to, and chose selective start up, and unchecked all the boxes, there were about 7 or 8 check boxes, so can't remember them all. The only one she said must be checked was process system.ini file. I did all that, then jaws didn't start, which set me in a panic, then I went back into msconfig and set it back to normal startup. I just finally told her I didn't want to continue and risk doing damage.
